Attorney Michael B. Lederman

moe lederman esquireMichael B. Lederman is a lifelong Pittsburgh resident who grew up in Squirrel Hill and graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School. He went on to graduate from Dickinson College and earned his law degree from Duquesne University School of Law. Mr. Lederman began his career working as an Assistant District Attorney in Allegheny County, where for four years he handled thousands of criminal cases. His time as a prosecutor gave him invaluable experience and the ability to hone his courtroom skills as he handled countless motions, non-jury and jury trials, preliminary hearings and sentencing hearings.

After his time as a prosecutor, Mr. Lederman opened up his own law practice in 2004 and has represented hundreds of clients in criminal, civil and juvenile courts. He also serves as the solicitor for Baldwin Borough, a position he has held since 2007.

Mr. Lederman’s approach as an attorney and advocate is simple: “Always do what is best for the client.” Mr. Lederman learned early that to be a great advocate, you have to be passionate about what you do. He believes that everyone, no matter the situation, deserves to have the highest quality representation. He takes pride in delivering this high standard to the people he represents and has earned a strong reputation as a hard-working attorney who is always prepared to act in his clients’ best interests.

Passionate Outside the Courtroom Too

Mr. Lederman has also been recognized for his passion and dedication in other areas of his life. He was an all-conference catcher and two-year captain of the Dickinson College baseball team. Upon his graduation in 1997, Dickinson College created an award named in his honor. Since 1998, “The Moe Lederman Leadership Award” is awarded annually to a member of the varsity baseball team who exhibits exemplary leadership both on and off the playing field. More recently in 2014, Mr. Lederman was inducted into the Western Pennsylvania Jewish Sports Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in baseball.

Mr. Lederman is married to Attorney Kathryn O’Brien Lederman, who works as a judicial law clerk in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County. He enjoys coaching Little League in Mt. Lebanon and playing softball. He’s also a diehard Pittsburgh sports fan.
